One Man, One Woman, Two Children

By Major Bill Donahue, USMC -RET | Monday, April 7th, 2008

Folks,

Before starting, let me state UP FRONT that this does NOT apply to several of you. But, from a list of (now) 807 contacts that I have, it does apply to far too many, sadly!

Involvement! Or, the lack thereof. After reading this, you still have the option of being removed from my list of contacts simply by sending me an email with “REMOVE” in the subject line.

What I am about to say might “disturb” some of you but frankly I do not give a damn because it needs to be said. PLEASE SEND THIS on to all your email contacts, and, ask them to do the same. Please?

We face many very serious issues for our nation. Of course, the election for POTUS appears to be front and center. We each have our own opinions about the remaining three candidates. And rightfully so. But there are other – perhaps even more important issues – which we all must face.

It is one thing to use our computers to send volumes of emails about just any topic. Emails are sort of like the old “back fence gossip” except that they are not confined to our back yards; they span the globe. Someone sends and email and, before you know it, it has been to India and back. In many cases, rumor and untruths make their way around the world before the truth gets its boots on.

But let me list just two “other” issues we face: (continue reading…)

Lie Detector Prompts Marine Murder Charge

By Major Bill Donahue, USMC -RET | Saturday, March 22nd, 2008

SAN DIEGO — A Marine was charged Tuesday with murder and dereliction of duty in the death of a detainee in Fallujah, Iraq, after authorities say his involvement came to light during a lie detector test for a job with the Secret Service.

Sgt. Ryan Weemer is the third person charged in the case, which centers on allegations that a Marine squad shot a group of unarmed captives during heavy fighting in November 2004.

Investigators claim Weemer, 25, described the killing during a polygraph test that included a question about whether he had participated in a wrongful death.

Weemer had completed his active duty and was in the Marine Corps’ Individual Ready Reserve until the Marine Corps reactivated him this week, said Lt. Col. Sean Gibson, a Marine spokesman. The move allows the military to court-martial Weemer.

Weemer, of Hindsboro, Ill., has been assigned to Headquarters Battalion, 1st Marine Division, while he awaits trial at Camp Pendleton. He was not being held in the brig.

War Trials And A ‘Code of Injustice’; Politicians Are Immune?

By Major Bill Donahue, USMC -RET | Thursday, March 20th, 2008

Rep. John Murtha has been granted an exemption from testifying in the
case of a Marine accused of crimes in the Iraqi town of Haditha.

Isn’t confronting your accuser one of the basic rights we’re fighting for? It is now evident that politicians, of any stripe, are – indeed – above the law and that military officials have taken a "hands off" approach when it comes to people like Murtha.

As our success in Iraq has caused it to fade as a campaign issue, so has the terrorist ambush of a Marine patrol in Haditha in November 2005 faded from public memory. But for the Marines charged with crimes in Haditha, it’s an ongoing nightmare.

After one of their comrades was killed by an IED, the Marines of Kilo Co., 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, took small-arms fire from nearby houses. They returned fire and went house to house searching for their attackers.

For their efforts in responding to a terrorist ambush, four Marines were charged with murder of innocent civilians and engaging in a rampage of revenge for their fallen comrade.

Haditha Marine to Testify at Court-Martial

By Major Bill Donahue, USMC -RET | Sunday, March 2nd, 2008

(Emphasis added)

A vindicated Marine lance corporal accused of war crimes at Haditha, Iraq has been granted testimonial immunity.

Former Lance Cpl. Justin Sharratt will testify on behalf of two enlisted Marine infantrymen waiting general court-martial in the infamous case.

It is expected by both defense teams and courtroom observers that Justin Sharratt will provide testimony beneficial to Lance Cpl. Stephen Tatum and Staff Sgt. Frank Wuterich, the two Marine enlisted men still facing trial for unlawfully killing Iraqi civilians.

Tatum was Sharratt’s squad mate during two vicious combat tours in Iraq in 2004 and 2005. Wuterich was his squad leader when the unit was ambushed at Haditha.

Daniel Conway, a former Marine and an associate of lead defense attorney Gary Myers and co-counsel in the Justin Sharratt case, said Sharratt received word Tuesday that he has been immunized from future prosecution.

A Former Marine Takes On His Congressman

By Major Bill Donahue, USMC -RET | Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

Open letter to Congressman Delahunt (D) Mass

Tim Harrington, Sgt HMM-165, has been personally involved with the families of the accused Marines of the Hamdania Case, (PENDLETON 8 ) and Haditha.
During this time, Tim has been in constant contact with his state rep, William Delahunt, D-MA 10th district. Mr Delahunt is the representative of Sgt Hutchins who was found guilty in his court martial for the charge of murdering a civilian in Iraq.

This issue is important because it has shown a level of corruption and perjury in the NCIS system and specifically 2 individuals that are common to the Hamadania and Haditha cases. It also shows a pattern of the government using evidence to prosecute but denying access to that evidence for the defense. ( Un-Manned aerial footage taken by drones over the combat area )

As we sit here, a documentary is being made to expose this. Also, some high ranking individuals involved with the JAG corp are aware of these incidents and are offering to testify before congress. These officers are above the O-5 grade.
